Used Models and Tools

La2004 model

(Model providing the basic astronomical and insolation data, see my "Astronomy and Paleoclimate" page)

Programming tool

(Tool used for the scripts below)

  • DISLIN Scientific Plotting Software (Helmut Michels, Max Planck Institute for Solar System Research): [e] www.dislin.de
A flexible small-footprint package for the generation of scientific plots (and also suitable for general-purpose data processing). User code can be executed as scripts (with disgcl interpreter, Perl, Java or Python) or, if so desired, may be compiled/integrated into C or Fortran programs.

Miscellaneous tools

  • For script editing, any text editor may do; I use [e] Crimson Editor
  • A handy tool for comparing text files: [e] ExamDiff
  • Image viewing, conversion and other basic image file processing can be done with [e][d] IrfanView

Output Data for the Rupelian and Ypresian Stages

See [e] Paleogene timetable for reference.

Notes

  • The material below is work-in-process and may be expanded, modified, or partially deleted at any moment.
  • Data files (tables, plots, script sources) are wrapped with minimal html code for easy browser access (viewing, saving to local disk, print preview and print). The "pure" files can be retrieved by removing the html wrapper with any text editor.
  • Comment headers appearing in output tables are hand-edited (not generated by script).
  • Script sources are in disgcl (DISLIN interpreter).
  • Questions, suggestions, comments are welcome (see contact info on "author" page).
